Shockingly bright boot up screen

Only complaint - this is our bedroom TV - the boot up screen is shockingly bright white. When one of us hits the power button at 5 am we have to hide our heads under the pillows to avoid the bright so early in the morning. Never thought of this as functionality to check when buying a tv, but you've been warned!

While the installer was hooking the TV to the cable box he disconnected my computer from the internet. Best Buy wanted $ 49 to send a tech out to fix the problem, Comcast fixed it for free. Wish I did not have to use 2 remote controls, one to turn the TV on and an other one to select a channel or turn the TV off.
