This is a basic connection that is found in many large devices we use at home. Receivers, monitors, computers etc.. I was using the same power cord for two devices that aren't used daily because if I'm using one, chances are I won't need to use the other but since Best Buy offers these basic cables at such low prices I figured I'd simplify my life by giving both devices their own power cord. Now I won't ever have to choose between connecting a monitor with my laptop or the industrial heat press if I should ever find myself in such a tough position. LOL! #americanLife

Had been on a opportunistic scavenger hunt for a three prong cord to cannibalize. Needed it for a fluorescent fixture that had been hardwired in a ceiling in its previous life. After a couple of weeks nothing had presented itself. Then this was a deal of the day for two dollars with free shipping. Serendipity. Cut off the female end, stripped the wires down, and now it is powering my fixture wonderfully.

Bought this specifically for my PS4 so I can keep it plugged into a different room when I move the PS4 around.
