It would flicker the screen and turn the monitor off or my computer would just not recognize it at all. I managed to get it working, I'm too lazy to return it.

Avoid the headache of figuring out if a converter has hdmi 2.0 capability and go with a cable like this , I'm currently using to connect multiple 4k TV's to my desktop. (gtx 970 display port to Vizio 43" 4k E series hdmi).

I thought I would have to buy a older monitor of new desk top. Thankfully after some research, discovered there were adapters to help with tech gaps!

I hooked it up and it works. The cable connects from my laptop to another monitor making it a second monitor how I wanted it to work.

Not even a full month later the cable has stopped working, I made sure not to put any cable strain on it or anything and it still gave out.
