Owned for 7 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.If you don't have an HDMI port on your device to go into your TV I'd say this maybe your only option. DVI are limit to 1600p which will not give you a 4K signal. If you want 4K either buy a new BluRay player, receiver or whatever device that supports HDMI or if it's a computer buy a separate GPU with HDMI or an active dual link dual link DVI connection(which I think is a waste of money.

I purchased two Insignia™ - 6' DVI-D-to-Hdmi Cables out of necessesity- my old monitor plus the HP monitor that I purchased only offered DVI and VGA connections and my new computer was only HDMI. So far the cables work as advertised.

Dont waste money

Allows my new laptop to connect to old monitor.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to setup my ASUS laptop with my 8 year old Samsung monitor but the laptop doesn't have a video port and the monitor doesn't have an HDMI port but it does have a DVI D port so I purchased the DVI-D-to-Hdmi Cable and hooked it up. The cable works great and allows me to boot the laptop and then close the lid and use the 22 inch monitor instead of the laptops 15 inch.
