    My old pcs hdmi port was being weirder than normal, so I had to find this item. My monitor doesn't have a DVI port.

    but the HDMI monitor I was hoping to use it with did not work well with the dvi-hdmi cable. I ended up returning this item and purchased a replacement docking station with an HDMI port. Nothing wrong with the cable, just wasn't compatible with my monitor.
