It also works way better than the norm av cords and is a direct connection. My previous av cord needed an additional converter piece to work, which i feel was not good for the port itself.

Standard HDMI Cable

I've also used this cable for connecting DVD and Blue Ray players to TVs. I know there are more expensive cables that should deliver more throughput but for my purposes it gets the job done.
