I've tried shredding up to the full 10 pages, a couple of credit cards, and an old dvd (just to have some fun). It shreds paper and credit cards with little to no hesitation. It takes an extra second or 2 on a cd/dvd. It is a little noisy, but that's probably my only complaint about it. Overall: solid A to A+ shredder
