Do not buy this item. I had a stack of old financial documents I'd been accumulating for many years and finally decided to dispose of them. Given today's rampant identity theft I decided to buy a paper shredder to insure these documents were properly destroyed. I don't usually have a need for this in my day to day life so I chose the cheapest shredder Best Buy carried. Not sure if it's due to the price or the manufacturer, but this shredder constantly got clogged and over-heated when I tried putting in several sheets in at a time. When it over heats you have to wait 15 min for it to start working again. Knowing that I started feeding only one sheet at a time and things got better, but then I would have to clean the shredder blades after like only 8 pages. It took me hours to work through a stack of maybe 100 pages. If you only need to destroy small amounts of papers at a time I guess it's an ok product, but if you ever expect to have more than just a few pages to shred, find another product because you will be very disappointed with this one, which is why I'm taking mine back.

Heavy duty shredder does CD's, and credit cards well.

This is a really good shredder. The paper is shredded thinly and fine. It also is great for shredding credit cards. Everyone should have a crosscut shredder in their home. Great purchase and you can’t go wrong if you buy this item.

For a crosscut shredder, this insignia is tough and durable even when you put through that thick cuts of paper you say "shucks, this is going to jam". Smooth sailing with this insignia when compared to others I have owned.

It does a great job shredding mail and papers etc.

This functions if you only have a sheet here and there to shred. If you have more, it will definitely overheat. Mine shut down in first 10 minutes of use.

Seems to work great. Paper was sticking to the blades. So I followed the directions: sprinkle (well, actually, I soaked) a piece of paper in vegetable oil, and run it through the shredder. No more sticking! Has a run-stop cycle, but I'm not a heavy duty user.

I have always had a soft spot for keeping records of everything. But then I got married. Unfortunately, my wife is in law enforcement, and this is a crucial tool in keeping my marriage together and me out of prison. I highly recommend it for those hot summer days when you don't have a good excuse for using the fireplace.

It says 6 sheets but shreds more than that. Like it.

Very good so far for what it is. Has the worked well. Being careful not to add too much paper at once. Use the reverse on the right to clean out paper that has built up in the teeth. So far so good. Happy here.

I keep breaking my shredders and so I was looking for an inexpensive machine that works well. This one fits the bill, it is not for use in an office but is fine for in home use. Just don't overload it.

I thought it was very expensive. And it's a great shreet for 10 sheets or less wouldn't recommend heavy shredding it over heats.

Small basket, frequent emptying, 6 sheets is pushing it as it really drags to do 6. I like the "overheated" indicator light, once I see that I turn it off and unplug it to allow it to cool. Overall, a good purchase for the amount of money.

We bought this shredder for a home office and for that purpose it’s a great value. If you needed to do extensive shredding might want to upgrade but perfect for a household.
