Love this shredder. Doesn't take up a lot of space. Is very quiet and shreds the paper into very small pieces.

This item definitely comes in handy if you receive a lot of junk mail or if you need to tidy up here and there. The price is definitely why I purchased it. Don't forget to add Geek Protection to this item. I only gave it 4 stars because it overheats fast and doesn't shred as efficiently as I'd hoped.

Insignia 6 Sheet Crosscut Shredder is compact and easy to use.

This 6-sheet Crosscut Shredder from Insignia was a perfect pickup for my home office. As long as you do not try to overload the shredder, it does a great job cutting up paper and credit cards to a tiny size. This shredder gives me a peace of mind that I am keeping the destruction of my personal documents safe in my own home.

I just needed something to start getting rid of all the old bills etc that I had lying around. This is the perfect size and works great.

Does a very good job of shredding in two dimensions and has not jammed.

Used the shredder with paper and cards and it works very well. Very straightforward product and delivers as advertised.

fits well in a small work space, even on a shelf when not being used. Good window on bucket so you know when it's filling up. Good forward and reverse. Good auto start when paper or card put into slot. Good that it can shred plastic cards. Lacks auto shut off, I think.

This replaced a shredder I bought for about $200. I was surprised at how many pieces of junk mail it took before slowing down. I was at around 8 and it still went through. I didn't wanna overdo it but that was enough for me to know this was a steal. Great for the price. I don't use it every day maybe once a week. not sure if this would be a daily grinder. no pun intended.

The Shreader works great and price was good. Very dependable

I had to purchase this shredder to replace another that was not efficient which was my concern for this model as well. To my surprise, this shredder can handle running for about an hour at a time plus doing several sheets at once. I also tested shredding credit cards and it did more than pass the test. It ate through the credit cards just as easy as paper as long as one is passed at a time.

Nice compact size, six sheet shredder just right for us.

Everything seemed to be OK however I returned it. Many of the reviews warranted caution but so did every other brand and model. Still I thought this Insignia might still serve my purpose. It was not as noisy as my now dead 15+ year old Fellowes strip shredder but was still quite noisy. I had reservations about the length of the cooling off period following overheat. I try to shred as needed to minimize the occurrences requiring long period of non-stop shredding, however there are times when I still need non-stop shredding. I don't have the patience to have my shredding interrupted by lengthy cooling off periods. The final straw was the lift off head which was considerably heavier than my old Fellowes and was just too cumbersome to work with. I've opted to go to a pull-out drawer model on wheels. Not sure yet whether that decision was any better.
