It's a basic shredder and does what it's intended to do. It shredded credit/debit cards just fine, but depending on the material of some cards (such as some membership cards), it'll only chew them up. As a side note, if you're looking into buying this for sensitive documents, this shredder may not be for you.

This shredder withstood the grueling task of not only shredding my stuff (5 leaf sized trash bags), but I shredded nearly 4 large industrial sized trash bags of a friend of mines personal stuff (to assist him in moving out of his apartment). It bogged down a little but after emptying it, and clearing the shredding chamber, it kept right on doing its thing.

This shredder works extremely well, you can use up to 10 sheets at a time and it doesn't jam.

The Insignia shredder works very well as a good shredder should. It can shred laminates like credit cards and other thicker than paper stuff. The paper catcher bin is spacious, and so it can accommodate a pretty good amount of shredded paper.

Purchased this shredder to replaced one I received free from a bank upon opening my account. The free one only shredded 2 sheets at a time. Have no problem with the Insignia 6 sheet crosscut shredded - it does it's job every time without a problem. Also shredded a few credit cards without any problem. The price was right $!9.99 - I would recommend this product.

Smaller shredder, so doesn't take up much space . Works quickly, and efficiently.

It shreds, but it overheats after like 6 pieces of paper, and then you're waiting 30 minutes for it to cool off. It's good if you only need to shred one thing every once in a while.

Purchased this shredder to replace the one I bought years ago that quit working. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise as this shredder is so much better. It shreds twice as many sheets (my old one was limited to 5 sheets). My old shredder had a designated slot for shredding old credit cards. This one has enough space to shred old CDs/DVDs.

This shredder works very well. It is easy and durable to use.

This shredder has pros and cons. Pros are it's compact and can be put out of sight. Easy to dump out the shredded papers. However, it does not preform like it says it does. It says 6 sheet maximum shred at a time. It can't do 6, let alone 4 sheets without getting bound up. 3 sheets is the maximum and it still binds up at times. The shredded paper sometimes gets shredded in backwards and binds the machine. You have to use the reverse button to clear out the bindings at times. Had I not had a gift card and 20% off of this shredder I very well may have returned it because it is not worth it's full price. It will do fine for minor papers which is what I will mainly be using it for, but if you are someone who needs to shred a lot daily this may not be for you.

It works great but have to do 4 pages at at time for best performance..and have to let it cool off every 15 minutes or it will autoshut down for a few minutes then resume work..but overall good product for a household only.
