Talking to AppleCare, they have never encountered this before. That, on top of my not seeing anything I connect to, leaves this cable unusable.

Doesn't work with setting up new Macs

I bought this thinking I could use it when setting up a new Mac to transfer files off an old Mac however this cable is only useful when you're already booted into two working machines.
