Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is not a basic transfer cable, be aware that it has built-in software that precludes it being used in a conventional manner. Also be aware that the built in software may or may not work on your Windows 10 computer. Out of 5 I tried it on the application repeatedly crashed on 3 and worked on 2. Unfortunately the 2 it worked on are not the ones that I need to transfer data between so it was a complete fail. Better yet, the software on those 2 computers did not recognize a connection so oops, even if they had been the right ones it would not have worked. Only buy it if you have time to try and return if it fails. Do not buy it if you just need a basic cable as it only works with its own software as far as I can tell.

Fast,Easy Transfer, Time Saver

The only thing I ever hated about getting a new pc was knowing I was gonna have to sit and download countless hours of programs and end up losing stuff I would forget..not anymore... this was extremely easy to move the data from old pc 2 new one..Best thing about this cable is that the software is built into it,,no disc needed,,no install needed just really plug and go.... it's a must have..saved me hours of disgust and frustration..now I am in love with my new pc from the start...lol...

Would Give It a No Star, If That Was An Option...

Plugged this in, did all the steps: Nothing. Cable Connect does not happen. Tried every possible USB socket, reread the brief directions, read the sparse help on the 'Insignia'/BestBuy community site, called Insignia and the off shore guy had zero clue and was zero help: kept reading menu to 'turn on both computers, etc. I must be one of the few unlucky ones, as this $20 cable is not worth tying something up with... Computer savvy here. No Luck. Skip this prod and buy a real brand from somewhere else.
