Before I could watch the battery level drain despite being plugged in which wasn’t acceptable for days of driving. Problem solved!

Cable did not work for my application.

Don't know what went wrong but I did plug it in and followed the directions for transferring but the Macs used wifi instead of the cable. Not a big issue other than the transfer took longer and the cable wasn't cheap.

No idea why, but it works and it's not that big of an issue to return/exchange.
