It served the purpose of powering my ThinkPad. However, the plug easily falls out of the laptop port. I leave it charging overnight and in the morning my laptop is dead because it slipped out of the port. The black box with the folding electrical prongs is a terrible design. There are several wall outlet where I can't use it because the box is so heavy it droops and disconnects from the power. The folding prongs only add to the problem because they fold up when you are trying to plug it in. It is very aggravating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
