    Unboxed it and it was damaged. Best Buy assistance with sorting it out was HORRIBLE. Over seas call centers, phone tag ultimately no resolution.

    Avoid Insignia

    stopped freezing after 4 weeks. I caught it in time to save most of the food and brought it back to best buy. They offered to exchange it but had no other 7 cu. ft. in stock. I settled for a 3.5 since I felt the 7cu ft was actually way to big anyway. I took the 3.5 cu ft home, unpacked it and found that packing material used to separate the gasket seal from the top for shipping had deformed the gasket. This deformity would prevent the seal from properly sealing. See pic. I remember reading in these reviews someone else having this type of issue and they were told to use a hair dryer to heat the seal and bring it back to form. I did this and it did bring it back to almost looking normal but it's not quite normal. I don't know if it will seal yet because I am waiting for a surge protector to be delivered. Even though you read that freezers/refrigerators should not be on surge protectors, I feel given that every modern appliance has some type of computer board in them, they are vulnerable to surges. I'm wondering if this is what happened to the original 7 cu. ft freezer. but bottom line, I have never had a good experience with Insignia products and I don't know why I gave them another shot. This will be the last time I buy Insignia. Otherwise the Best Buy supervisor was very helpful and I'm glad for that at least.

    The Best Buy clerk did not use care when loading it into the truck. And when we unboxed it it was dented on a corner and along the width of the freezer. It could of been damaged in shipping also. We did not bother in returning the freezer. It does the job but we did have to buy shims to keep it level since it was dented on a corner

    Really has nothing to due with this product but more so best buys customer service for this product. I purchsed this as a buy online pickup in store order. Coupel days later I unbox the product to find out it is dented on the left side. I do a chat to inquire about a partial refund as the freezer is fine im sure just dented. Im not sbout to pay full price for a damaged product. Well since it was a bopis order they cannot issue a partial refund. I have to take it back to the store. Not exactly simple being a chest freezer. Plus the best buy i got it from has no more. Now i have to drive further to exhange it. They cant say whether or not i will be compensated for this. I have to take my time boxing it back up, get it in my vehicle, waste my gas bringing it back. Its one thing if this was a small product, but it isnt. I would be fine with a partial refund. This is a horrible way to handle customer service on a larger product.

    So far I haven’t tried it, I’m trying to return it since it’s damaged bad in the right side near the compressor. It has dents and scratches I just purchased on Sunday and it’s already Tuesday. I cannot get any rep on the phone to help me since I hired someone to help me put it in since I’m a pretty small person. No one bothers to return a call or help me out. Most likely not going to last that long if I do keep it!

    Missing leveling foot pad

    Freezer was missing the front right leveling foot pad. Contacted Best Buy and they sent a foot pad, but the freezer base had no threaded hole in which to screw in the foot. Freezer works, overall quality seems to be good.

    Store Pick Up Not Recommended or You May Be Stuck

    I have no idea if this is a good freezer because the freezer I purchased using store pick up had significant hidden damage. The damage was found after I returned home and removed the strap and cardboard over carton from the freezer. How does Best Buy make it right if there is hidden damage on a store pick up? You must return it to the store. I really do not consider that making it right since in my case I will spend 90 minutes driving 60 miles to do this. I will not use store pick up again. My recommendation is that if you do use store pick up, fully unpack your item in the Best Buy parking lot no matter how good the packing may look. Finally there is no clear statement on the Best Buy website on their policy regarding hidden damage for store pick ups. If I would have know this policy I would have purchased elsewhere.

    Bought this brand new on sale and what I opened the box the freezer was dented. Now I see a bunch of reviews where people had the same problem. Best Buy doesn’t even offer a way for you to get some money back for them selling a damaged product. I had to pay someone to take me and pick it up so I wasn’t going to pay again for them to have me take it back. The freezer works that’s why I didn’t return it but it sucks I paid for a brand new product that has ugly dents in it. They need better quality control since it keeps happening. They should also give some kind of a discount since it happens during there shipping.
