We have had it less than a month and we're sorry we ever purchased it. Yes it does freeze food, but if you must defrost it every few weeks, well our advice find a better product.

I have a three point cubic foot freezer also that is completely silent this one has quite a whining noise to it and if you are going to be nearby I would not recommend this unit.
