The Insignia .7 Cu Ft Compact Countertop microwave fit nicely on the small countertop area I was considering it for. If my grandson doesn’t end up taking it for his dorm room, it also fits easily on top of the minifridge in my home office so there are options on where to place it. The microwave isn’t heavy at all so it can easily be moved from one place to another. Setup was very basic and only took about 5 minutes from unboxing to installing the turntable to programming the clock. The included manual gives operating instructions and button and setting descriptions. It was good to see an actual printed manual instead of having to scan a QR code, go to a website, or watch a video for a change. The LED display is bright, and the buttons are easy to read. I can do without the gray door release button that’s part of the handle design, though. I know Insignia says it’s to help make the microwave more childproof, but it doesn’t make it easy for arthritic hands either. Being that this is a compact microwave, it’s not surprising that the inside is small, but it is little smaller than expected. A standard bag of microwave popcorn may stop rotating on the turntable because it begins to touch the side walls as it expands, and a plate larger than 8-10 inches is a tight fit. There’s nothing remarkable about its heating strength but it does get the job done at 700 watts. It takes 95 seconds to heat a cup of tea and I love that memory settings can be programmed for a most microwaved item like that cup of tea. Overall, this microwave serves its purpose, is lightweight, and would be great for a dorm room, small office, truck cab or RV.

The inside is big enough to cook a regular sized bag of popcorn, and you don’t have to resort to the smaller bags. In the box: Includes the Insignia.7 cu ft compact microwave oven, instruction manuals in English, and two other languages, turntable and turntable support. Setup Setup was super simple. The manual gives instructions on how to set the clock, what everything means, and it’s easy to put the turntable in. Noise level This has to be the quietest microwave I’ve ever had. It’s super quiet. Safety features The microwave comes equipped with childproof safety features including a child lock. It is very easy to activate and use. Power levels There are 10 power levels with multiples of 10, for example, level 10 is at 100% power, while level 6 is at 60% power. There are also options for multi-stage cooking, so you can set it up to cook at different power levels. I used this to defrost frozen bacon. The first stage was defrost, and the second stage is to cook it. The memory feature is super cool. You can program the microwave to memorize the information for the items you cook most, including multi-stage cooking. Display The display is very bright green. It’s a good size, so no issues with seeing it day or night. It shows the time while in standby mode, and shows the information about cooking time and information about the cooking settings. Cleaning is easy, as it comes with instructions on cleaning each part of the microwave safely. I would recommend this microwave.

Power; 5. Clock; 6. Kitchen Timer; 7. Popcorn; 8. Potato; 9. Pizza; 10. Frozen Vegetables; 11. Beverage; 12. Dinner Plage From the list, 7 to 12 are automate, and then it combine with number buttons 1 to 6. Its power levels are 11 level, from 0 to 10, by 10% each level. Out of package, it only includes turntable glass plate and carousel ring. Its product depth is 12 7/16 inches, width 17 13/16 inches, hight of 10 5/16 inches. Basically to picture it, measured against a bottle of wine, it reach about the neck of the bottle. As unique and handy functionality to mention: 1. I can set a memorized or saved function for most frequently used option. 2. Start button has included function to add 30 seconds to the already cooking time if needed. Considering the size, it is quite functional for quick and simple need and still adjustable or almost depending one what being heat up. For instance, for popcorn, although it can immediately start with button Popcorn, it has option to adjust its weight. The only aspect that comes with it, it is if I have a bit larger size, have to divide and perform twice, or in the case of popcorn can’t place bags larger than 3.0 ounces. The limitation mentioned is more due to the nature of the size and its capabilities, but other than that I find it very useful and doesn’t take much of space.

This microwave is a must for....... Let's start with setup.... Setup took all but 5 mins. Unpacked out of shipping box and original box. Took the tray and tray support installed it. Plugged it in and set the time and I was all set. I tested heating up water for a cup a tea.. about 1.5 mins and it was hot enough for tea. Popping pop corn was super easy too. Operation was easy. Preset buttons are easy to use. The door lock unlocked was different. It has a trigger on the handle. Which is different from buttons or just pulling the door. Size is nice. You can fit a mug medium plate or a frozen dinner without any issues. Color and finish is nice. Back is nice and modern. Also operation noise is really good. Meaning it is actually really quiet. So back to my intro sentence.... This is perfect for a dorm room or if you have an office but don't want share a common microwave if your coworkers are slobs and you don't want to be part of that.... When I got the microwave, my wife said she wanted it right as she saw it coming out of the box. For that I would recommend this...

For a smaller sized microwave this one is really good. Didn't have a lot of counter space and this was the perfect size, and allowed me to still have room left on my counter. The microwave looks good, and works marvelously, i use it a lot plenty of power for defrosting, for cooking my breakfast on workdays and popcorn, and different snacks. I would definitely recommend.

I purchased the Insignia 0.7 cu. ft. compact microwave in black and it works perfectly for small spaces. It heats food evenly, runs quietly, and is very easy to use with simple controls. As the name of the product suggests, this is a compact microwave from Insignia. I picked this Microwave to use in the office at work to warm up my breakfast and lunch meals, so the 0.7 Cu Ft. size of it was perfect for that task. The microwave tops out at 700w so this is something that you need to keep in mind when making food and reading the directions as most instructions call for 1000-1100w, so adjust accordingly. What I have found to have worked so far is adding 30% more time. So if a meal calls for 60 seconds, I set it to 20. This microwave is pretty run of the mill when it comes to microwaves. It comes with all the presets you would expect, adjustable power levels (11 in fact), cook timers, and an easily removable turntable. In my short time with it so far it has worked just as I would have expected. Honestly there are more features on microwaves than I'll ever use so its hard to test all aspects. The preset cooking features on this work by either number of items (for Potatoes) or weight of food. Press the button the number of times required to get to the weight of the food and hit start. Thats all there is to it and there is no guess work. The hardest part is figuring out the weight of your food. I've found myself pausing close to the end and doing a temperature check. One feature this microwave has that I'm just discovering (I don't know if others do) is you can set the power level to 0 which will just run the fan and vent the microwave. This will be useful for potentially odorful food or after cleaning to help get the smells out. There is one feature with the microwave that I don't understand the purpose of and its the trigger door release. It seems like an odd design choice as opposed to a grip based release or simply pressure. The plastic on that setup felt a bid flimsy so I can't attest to how durable it is. Hasn't broken on me yet but it is something I'll be watching for. Overall, pretty satisfied with this microwave. Its very budget friendly and works really well for heating up my meals at work.

The Insignia™ .7 Cu. Ft. Compact Microwave in black is for those of us that need something small in stature, preserving your usable real estate, but mighty in function that gives us a choice in microwaving. The unit arrived well packed, but to tell the truth, not much is included- the unit comes with the glass turntable and circular piece for underneath the turntable, and 3 owner's manuals in English, Spanish, and French. This is the newer version of this Insignia model per my review of Best Buy's website. I was impressed that this unit has 2 separate defrost settings-either by time or weight. One of my first impressions is that when you grab the handle, you must push the gray piece inside the handle to open the door. The manufacturer refers to this as a 2-step safety feature for those that might have children trying to use the microwave. I have never experienced that with a microwave, no matter what the size has been. I also like easy and setting the clock is a no brainer. As you can see with the attached photos, the A/C plug is on the right back side when looking at the front of the unit. I personally had no issues with its length as I reached to plug it in, how convenient. There are multiple pre-settings for your ease of operation or the time clock, and the black color will easily match your design. In fact, there are even 2 defrost options- either by time or weight that is unusual, I think, in a modestly priced microwave unit. The buttons are labelled in white and visually comfortable to see. That is important to me since I am 65 years old. I have put this unit in my office's front room for not only my quick use adjacent to my working office, but for any of my clients that might want to warm up their coffee or other hot beverages that they might come in with. I have only used this briefly since receipt, but I believe that this is a good choice at a reasonable price.

I got this for my son who just recently got hos apt amd needed a microwave. It's a prerry good size, works great, saves space and i like that it doesn't beep 3 times. It only beeps once. I definitely recommend if you're looking for something not too big, not too small.

Microwave has been working great, highly recommended. The only thing it does not have is a reheat button, but the time cook works perfectly the same.
