This defeats the purpose of the reason I bought it in the first place; I needed a way to charge peripherals, such as ultraviolet light devices and my fitbit charger. I returned the two I purchased.

Nice compact design, plenty of USB ports

Purchased the Insignia - 7-Port USB 2.0 Hub when the one I'd been using decided to fall apart. I like that all the ports are on one side so the device can slide under a riser on the desk and I still have easy access. Seems to be well made and transfer is acceptably fast.

Works and Gets the Job Done

This one was in the right price range, and provides USB power (power adapter included). The only down side is that it's not as sturdy/solid as I would like it to be. Other than that, it worked well for the project I needed it for and will pair well with the Surface.
