I had a 4 port one and needed more USB ports. This 7 port hub does the trick and all my devices work great. The only thing is that you have to plug it in and the power cable is very short, a little more than 3 feet. So, plan your AC outlet accordingly. Thanks

Non-powered ports will not work with things that require more power, like dvd drives. This worked with no issues - have three hard drives, a DVD player and a camera card reader all going thru it at once.

My laptop only has 3, which wasn't enough for all of the accessories I need for work. The USB cable is a little long for my needs, but I keep it twist-tied together and works just fine. Only downside is that it requires its own plug-in; would like to have seen this rely on computer-power instead of a separate outlet plug.

This was simple to install (actually just plug it in) and off you go. It is USB2.0 so it is not the fastest one out there. For hooking up a mouse or keyboard this works just fine. If you intend to hook up a usb drive, and it supports USB 3.0 I recommend you get a USB3.0 compatible device.

Awesome USB 7-port hub

I am a professional musician who uses multiple USB enabled musical instruments and the ease to which I was able to plug in and have no issues with this unit has amazed me. There are no drivers to install it's powered by the computer itself and the streaming of musical data is flawless. If you're in need of extra ports this is the unit to purchase.

Using it on my Macbook 12"

I bought this as an extension to my new Macbook adapter since there are no usb ports and the adapter only comes with 1 usb port. I decided to buy this to connect to the one usb port and hoped that it works since i like to charge my iPhone, iPad, and other peoples devices. I though, better safe than sorry and not be left with wishing i had more ports if i had bought the one with only 2 or 4 ports. Sure i have extensions beyond what is convenient but this is super light and small that it fits purse with my Macbook. I just like knowing that i have the option to hook up up to 7 usb connections if i wanted to although i have yet to use them all. Great product, sleek looking, and best of all, it works with my adapter for my Macbook.

This is where this USB hub shines. Room to spare on USB ports to plug into. The only down sides are that it is a little pricy and its lightweight plastic construction allows the cables plugged into it to drag it around.

So may of those USB to wall boxes and not enough outlets, things were all over the place. Now, we have one hub where we charge everything at once, freeing up outlets and we always know where our devices are.
