    Needed a second frig for garage. Unfortunately this was way too small. Good news Best Buy took it back for a larger model.

    It’s still on a boat some where and waiting. Why couldn’t Best Buy send it from another store that has them up North.

    My 8 year can look over the top then one of the men who delivered it was rude

    Our fridge went out and we needed a cheap fix that would hold us over until we got a better one. We found this one and it really does the job just fine. The only thing that could be better is there’s not much freezer room. It works perfectly fine but i cant Store much in my freezer. The bottom of the fridge works fine and holds everything we need.

    The refrigerator runs very quiet and emits less heat from defrosting as compared to the one I had before. I can barely hear it when it is running. It is a great refrigerator for a 2-person household or even 3, depending on life styles. The delivery was timely and the delivery guys were very helpful in delivering the new one to my kitchen and in hauling away my old one. They called 10 minutes before they arrived so that I could be prepared as the bell rang.

    Smells like machine oil and clip came unplugged

    I've had this fridge for 2 years. It took us forever to figure out how to get it not to smell like machine oil. I hosed it out with engine degreaser, vinegar, used baking soda, etc. What finally worked was letting it sit, plugged in for a few weeks, covered in coffee and vanilla extract. After a couple years it stopped cooling in the fridge. It was stuck on 1 on the thermostat and lights 3 and 4 were flashing. I couldn't find any information about this error code online or in the manual, so I'm sharing here. On the top of the fridge, there is a cover over the thermostat held up with one phillips head screw. When I pulled it down, there was a clip that had come unplugged. It must have not been clipped together all the way from the factory. I'm glad it was a free fix and I didn't have to buy a $100 control board for a $360 fridge. This fridge is the exact same model as the Magic Chef HVDR1040W, just rebranded with an Insignia logo.

    This refrigerator is energy efficient, runs quietly and keeps things consistently cold. I found the following settings to work best: Refrigerator 4 and Freezer MAX. Now for the flaws: Depending upon where they are positioned, the glass shelves in the refrigerator will contact the plastic racks in the door preventing it from sealing and closing properly. The bottom plastic crisper drawers also prevent the door from sealing properly -- requiring you to lift the glass crisper cover and push the molded plastic handles of the crisper drawers underneath it. I contacted Insignia -- which does not stock replacement parts -- and was told to take the refrigerator back to a Best Buy store. The 1 year Insignia warranty does NOT include in home service.

    The fridge is great so far. Had to replace an old one that came with my apartment. The price was great and easy on my wallet. I even got free delivery due to a Best Buy promotion. Lucky timing. The only thing is that there is a weird electrical smell but I am sure that will go away with time.

    While the refrigerator is a good size for items and is a nice touch, it sure doesn't live up to what I was told through the best buy chat. I had clearly asked that if this fridge was garage ready and was told yes. For that reason, I purchased this fridge. I has it delivered this past Saturday and it was obviously working. Come today I went to check the food in the freezer and found my food partially unfrozen and the main fridge portion somewhat cold. This is truly disappointing that I was told one thing and that one thing isnt true. Obviously I would have not purchased this fridge if that was the case. I kept a script of my chat and will be bouncing this up to Corporate. Truly unacceptable!

    I wanted a smaller white refrigerator, I found it with this appliance; thank you. It is clean and clear, I can see everything. There are two removable shelves for cans. Love it. About the process: It was fast and professional; from the moment I went to the store to the delivery, thank you again. The communication is incredible, I thought it was going to be lack of communication but I knew when and where the appliance “was”. Thank you. You renewed my faith in appliances stores. Keep it up <3 ng

    Broken Fridge, Poor Warranty Service

    I had the fridge for 5 months or so and have been having trouble with the fridge staying cold (temperature fluctuates). I contacted Insignia service and they told me to bring it to best buy (this matches what the warranty indicates). This is pretty annoying honestly, since it's not trivial to remove everything from the fridge and put it in a car. To confirm, I called Best Buy and they had no idea what I was talking about since I didn't have a geek squad warranty. They told me I needed to contact the manufacturer (which I had already done). Eventually, after several phone calls, it was straightened out. I have yet to bring it in but I hope it will be smooth from here on out.

    Terrible Fridge and Terrible Insignia Experience

    Will NEVER buy an Insignia product again. The freezer would not work at random times. After 6-7 months of use, the opposite happened and the defroster stopped working. The fridge stopped working as well. I called Insignia and they gave me instructions to BRING the fridge myself to Best Buy to get it repaired. They mentioned that an appointment was scheduled. I had no means of transporting it so I had to rent a Uhaul truck to take it in. After arriving to Best Buy, the Geek Squad staff was confused why in the world I brought a fridge to the store. They told me that there was no appointment and that fridges would have to be left at home for a technician to come in. I called Insignia to follow up and assist me but NO response back. I am extremely frustrated and annoyed at their customer service and the lack of communication the Insignia team has with Best Buy Geek Squad. I'm not quite sure if they'll compensate me for the incorrect instructions in bringing it to Best Buy. A lot of repairmen around the area refused to work on the fridge because of how unpopular the brand is. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and buy Whirlpool, Samsung and other BRAND NAME products that won't break after a few months.

    Piece of Garbage, Even Replacement Was Defective

    I had a similar experience as “Frustrated” with the first fridge I bought, having to bring it back to Worst Buy because the freezer stopped working within 3 months, but only because I called Insignia. Worst Buy replaced the fridge as per Insignia’s instructions, but the second one also has a defective freezer and stopped working within 30 days. But because of Worst Buy’s horrible return/exchange policy, I am stuck with a defective appliance. The idea that I have to buy a warranty and that Best Buy would not replace a defective fridge after so short a period of time makes it impossible for me to shop there ever again.

    Will NEVER buy an Insignia product again. Randomly stops cooling. Stopped work permanently in 2.5 years. My attempt to seek an assistance at https://www.insigniaproducts.com/contact-us, failed. No response by phone, only formal responses by email. Local repair services are reluctant to repair this product.
