I purchased two sets of these for our van. After 5 months, both started randomly saying "no disc" and would stop periodically during movies. I returned to best buy as they were still under the year warranty and purchased a unit which could be installed in my roof. I was thankful to get my money back. The "holders" for the dvd players are terrible and the players will fall right out of them and you have to take them in and out of the holder to add a dvd. Just not a good design for kids.

This system is ok for the price. no real complaints but the housing seems a little flimsy. I wouldn't let the kids drop it, but other than that, it works fine. Battery power is also a little lacking but it is powering two screens.

First one made a buzzing noise through the speaker and the second screen was flickering. Brought it back for an exchange. Second one made an even louder buzzing noise and now through both monitor. Taking it back again and probably getting different brand.. SMH the hassle going back and forth...

The DVD player has a clear screen, no skipping. Love that it came with all the accessories

It seemed like a good product at first. It worked for one hour. Then stopped playing some of the DVDs. Then worked on another for trip for 3 hours and then wouldn't play any DVDs. Now it's in the garbage. Would have taken it back, but it was a gift and we didn't have a receipt. What a waste of money. Do not buy. It worked for a total of 4 hours.

I never actually used it, so take my review how you will. I took it out of the box to charge & realized in order to work the second screen, it has to be plugged into the first one. That was a bummer. What is the point of having two screens if you MUST be extremely close to the other? The cord is way too short to even be considered okay. It was a total waste, so I returned it.

have worked fine so far, lots of wires and mount moves around a bit.

I bought this last year for my little girl and me being me I didn't get it into the car till months later and it won't even turn on! Nadda- anyone else have this issue... was it fixable or do I just need to toss and buy a new one?

Read reviews of products like this one and other brands on Amazon and one can quickly figure out that these portable DVD players just do not last. I bought my first set of DVD players for my 2 and 3 year olds about a year ago. I purchased the Philips brand that is sold at Best Buy After about 3 months, the second screen broke. We drove along for another 9 or so months with only one screen working on the back of one head rest. Then I bought a new replacement set, again the Philips brand. Lasted less than 2 weeks, then the second screen made a horrible buzzing noise. Brought it back to Best Buy and got their (this Insignia) brand, thinking it might be a brand thing. Hah! After less than a week, the main screen just STOPPED working. The Insignia is not great with how you have to install it. It has straps that hold it on the head rest but also make it impossible to change the DVD with out disassembling the whole contraption that straps it to the head rest. The buttons are small and hard to push. I REALLY do not know who wrote these other "great" reviews. They must have tons of time to go back and forth to the store until they find a unit that works. I wasted at least 5 hours of my life dealing with this mess that I can not get back. And now, I have NO DVD player for the kids and will have to invest in a more permanent, in the actual hear rest option? UHHHHH

everything says theres a 2.5hr battery life... but there is NO BATTERY must be plugged in for any play back!

Screens stopped working after 3 months.Sound only.

Just bought this for my kids, we used them for a week then they stopped working. I am returning them because we need somethintg that will work for our long trips. Probably will get something with much better reviews.

Sumtimes when u hit 1 button another thing happens

Bought a set, the one we used in the car the least went bad, just kept loading & loading, never playing. Exchanged it for another set & again, the one in the car (can't take the heat, wasn't even summer) did the same forever load. Exchange & return was easy, they were understanding & helpful

We just bought this had it in the car for our five hour family trip and the volume controls and head set do not work on the second one. Needless to say this will be a long trip with our 4 and 10 year old.
