Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.ehh it’s an ok boombox for people trying to save money. bluetooth works good have to say and cd play also works great. however cassette audio is kind of muffled and out of tune. i have another boombox and put the cassette in it and it didn’t sound like the insignia boombox. speakers are decent. however you can enjoy it 25 feet away outside. if too loud on 24 vol, it will sound crappy.

However, right out of the box, it played fine, then the power just shut off. It was very strange with a cassette because the button wasn't even pushed in and the light was off. I checked the manual to see if there was some sort of auto-shut off but couldn't find it. Then I was listening to music from my computer using the Audio In jack and the same thing just happened. Completely shut off. Each time I've used it, it has been plugged in. Doesn't even have batteries in it. I was going to try to exchange it but based on the other reviews I guess I'll just return it instead. Fortunately there is an extended return period after the holidays. For $60 I defnitely expected more. Not worth $25 if it doesn't even stay on.

If I wished for a better sound quality, I would have invested in a more expensive product. Buttons could be improved. For instance, it would be nicer to have a slider or dial for the volume.

The buttons are awkward, however. They make use difficult. Would prefer knobs. The volume capacity could be improved. Still a nice convenient way to enjoy all the old and new technologies at a very reasonable price.

Lost my original Insignia when left it outside in the rain. Did a lot of looking on what is on the market now, nothing comes close. Found other brands for good quality boomboxes were $100 more, and not as nice. Know this because I tried a well known brand one w/ high rating & had to return it (catch on cd player lid didn't work!). Found it hard to find another Insignia, seems they sell out fast. VERY happy found this & got it shipped from another Best Buy store to me.

I loved that it had cd and tape player. Returned to Best Buy with the radio hoping i had missed some way to fix it. The geek found no fix so it was exchanged. That was certainly satisfactory, but this is their store brand.
