5 weeks old and CD player doesn’t work

The cd spins and spins but doesn’t play. Also, not for nothing, the buttons are hard to depress. Don’t understand that. As if it’s like a fake, or prop. And the online chat person told me it was too late for a return/exchange. I’m told to call the manufacturer. Isn’t Insignia Best Buy’s brand? My Sony lasted 10 years and cost half the price.
