Not much in the low end. It didn't end up working out for me. I would recommend spending a little more and get better sound quality.

The buttons were so small and I had to pick it up to look closely to what that button was! It looked like a cheap pressing job and worse paint job on the buttons.

There's no base necessarily and it's a pretty stiff product as far as pushing buttons and aligning things up quickly. The intent is just a wire hanging down you have to fool around with to change the reception.
