You get what you pay for. I purchased a couple of cheap (really cheap) 10ft. cables before this one. Mean less to say, it lasted a couple week them would not charge. This cable is built with quality in mind.

I love the ten foot lightening charger. It is a swift charge and the ten foot cord allows for easy movement while charging your device. I would recommend this charger.

get the long one. you already have a short one. this is for leaving at your desk or bed table, so that you can walk around using your phone while it is being charged or sync'd

I brought this to charge my iPhone 6 plus at the office since I like to listen to music or radio shows at times when I work. I needed the length so that I could plug it in under my desk and weave it through the side of my desk. It was more than enough length and has been working well to date.
