I plug it into the appropriate socket in the vehicle and the phone charges. I was mad at myself; I had to buy this because I was traveling and forgot to take the cord out of my car when I got to the airport. This is the second time I've done that for this cable.

Sufficient for a charger

I believe the box claimed 6 foot cord length, however the coil is very tightly wound and I can hardly operate the phone while it is plugged in to my Honda civic's power outlet in the front. I would definitely buy the charger with the longer chord.

It's Ok

But most newer cars nowadays come with usb ports so you can just take your current charger and plug that into the car's usb port instead of buying this thing. It's only good if you have older cars without usb ports.

I had all the features I was looking for: A plug for the car and the lightning connecter with a wire connecting the two. I find it valuable to charge an Apple device in a vehicle; very handy if your phone no long has a charge. She seems to enjoy the convenience this item brings to her life but not enough to consider it an appropriate Valentine present.
