    The cord doesn't work for my Apple 5 without me using great effort. It works fine for my kids' Apple 5Cs.

    I've bought a couple of these "cheaper" iPhone cords and over time they all stop charging properly as it seems the wires must come disconnected inside on the lightning connector side. You have to wiggle it to get it to start charging. I guess I'll start buying the more expensive ones.

    It was cheap and I needed a plug fast. I grabbed it off the shelf and realized once I got in the car that it must not be MFI certified because it didn't work with the car's usb audio system like apple cables work. It works for charging the phone, but doesn't seem to work for pulling data off the phone. I should of spent the extra money and got an apple one.
