The OEM cord broke as they all eventually do. We wanted one that would give more range when plugged in. We bought 2 . One for our kid that was away at school the other still at home. One wanted a longer cord than the other. Both work as expected and have held up to the abuse/usage so far that 2 young men can inflict on them.

I have purchased dozens of Apple Lightning Charge-and-Sync Cables over the years! So far this Insignia (6’) seems to be one of the best made. It’s thicker and seems more durable but yet the lightening end still fits into my iPhone port without having to take the case off.

I love the Insignia brand it’s a great alternative to the name brand usb cables and they work great. I’ve bought them for both my Samsung and IPhone devices and they charge fast. I also love that they offer longer length cables and are actually durable. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Purchased this 6' cable to charge my iPhone & iPad since the ones that come with them are so short. This is EXACTLY what I needed! Great for when I'm in bed. I don't have to lay on the edge of my bed to charge while on my devices. Going to purchase another one for my grandson. Love it in black!
