So this little insignia branded device is actually really cool and for me has several uses. We have used it late at nights to watch tv in our room using Bluetooth streaming from the tv. It works well and keeps the noise level to a minimum for when we’re trying not to wake the kids or disturb a nap. You can stream music to two speakers or headsets. It has worked well for what we have needed it to do. We have never had any issues with sound dropping out or connectivity issues. This device holds a charge for up to 16 hours and can be charged with either usb c or lightning. Nice to have both options there. Specs say there’s 33 ft of range but we mostly used it within a few feet so I can’t speak to that. It’s made out of plastic and is smaller than what I was expecting which makes it easy to hide away if needed. All in all I would consider this a good buy for the price. Not all devices have Bluetooth but this little plug and play box will help bridge the gap on alot of them just by plugging it in.

As a receiver this works just fine. I have used in my car to stream XM, Youtube audio or podcasts with no issue. I do need to turn the volume up for both BT on the phone and the radio itself. As a transmitter, this was a pain in the keister for me. I could not get my headset to pair, but every BT speaker in the neighborhood seemed to pair to it. After finally getting one of my headsets to pair, I could not get the volume to a level that was adequate. The volume on my headset would only go to barely above a whisper and the volume on the different devices I tried did not change the level appreciatively. I tried this with two TVs and a tablet. The tablet has BT, but I wanted to see if it had the same issues as the TVs did with adequate volume levels. It had the same results but showed my what was happening. It seems like the transmitter is blocking the volume change from the headset. The volume bar would go up on the tablet then immediately drop to the lowest audible level. On one TV I had the volume, that is normally at 12, up to 24 and the output did not change from where it was when I plugged the device in. I was really hopeful this would allow me to listen to sports in bed without annoying my wife with the sound. I will keep playing with this and see if other headphones work better. Oddly it works perfectly fine with my PC, so it is a decent solution to use BT headsets with my computer rather than install a BT card.

I am pleasantly pleased by this Bluetooth wireless transmitter/receiver. I have connected it to my car (yes it's old like me). There have been other units similar to this that have not performed as well as this has. It is easy to use and recharge. The only thing I would not use it for is listening to the TV in privacy. No matter what changes to syncing on my TV's I tried I could not get the audio to sync up. Minor flaw but a flaw none the less. If you need something like this to be able to listen to your music in your car or at home I have no problem recommending this unit. If you are looking to use this to watch TV in privacy maybe give it a go. I am due for a upgrade in my home theater anyway so the issues I had could have just been due to the older Bluetooth protocol my equipment uses. Add this to your home receiver if it doesn't have Bluetooth to stream your music from your phone, tablet or PC. Insignia has come a long way from their old picture tube TV's which still works. Go ahead and give this a shot. It will be a nice piece to add to the tech drawer of miscellaneous parts and gadgets that one day will come in handy.

This works as advertised. I can watch TV using my wireless headphones. Setting it up was not challenging. I believe it willl also work with my stereo. All you need is a small headphone jack.

The Insignia - Bluetooth Wireless Audio Transmitter and Receiver is a very handy little gadget that does a great job of doing what it was designed to do. Designing this product to work as both a Bluetooth transmitter and receiver was a great idea and makes this one little box quite the versatile tool. I really like the Insignia brand as it always seems to deliver with the products they come out with and this Insignia - Bluetooth Wireless Audio Transmitter and Receiver is certainly no different. I mainly use this to connect my phone via Bluetooth to one of my older vehicles which does not have Bluetooth built-in but it does have a 3.5mm connection. Being able to also connect this device in a way where I can use my Bluetooth headphones to listen to things from a normally non-Bluetooth source is an awesome added benefit. The device itself is very easy to setup and use and the instructions that came with it were surprisingly detailed and clear. I believe most people will find it easy to set things up regardless of how technologically savvy they are. One of the other things I really like about this device is how it can be charged with either a lightning cable or a USB-C cable. This means you will easily be able to recharge the device no matter which cable you already happen to use. This once again shows the thought Insignia puts into their products and as a result, you will certainly be getting your money’s worth if you decide to purchase this device. Overall, the Insignia - Bluetooth Wireless Audio Transmitter and Receiver is a very versatile, high-quality device that is well worth its cost and I highly recommend it!

Upon seeing the Insignia™ Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter/Receiver I thought this is something I could use! I have wanted to get those headphones for the TV so that I could hear the TV more clearly while not having everyone else be blown away by my volume. I thought this would do the trick and didn’t carry that hefty price tag. It took me a minute, but I was able to pair my earbuds with the transmitter/receiver. Not having a visual made it a tad trickier for me. Eventually it did pair up and it has remained paired. I plugged it into the headphone jack of my TV and unfortunately, it wasn’t up to my expectations. I could barely hear the TV at all no matter how high I set the volume on my earbuds. I was using it as a transmitter and check, it was set on transmitter. I moved the level switch as indicated by the instructions, but that basically made no difference at all. Instructions also suggest raising the volume on my TV. 2 problems there - 1st it defeats the purpose of my using the transmitter and 2nd it only raised the volume of my earbuds a tiny bit. The volume was still way too low. I decided to try the computer - it doesn’t have speakers so I thought that would work. I plugged it in, opened pandora and chose a song. Again, I could hear the music and I was hopeful, but again, the volume was way too low! As far as the transmitter, I am quite disappointed with this. I know this can be used as a receiver also, but I don’t have a need for that, and that’s not why I got it. For me, this is a no go. It did work for me, but not very well at all, so 2 stars.

I had a feeling this would be handy, and I was right. First, I have to mention that it's small, which is great. One part of the "big deal" with this is that it's very easy to share audio from a single source, but it works both ways. Two examples of what I've tried are: Using an older computer speaker set that doesn't have Bluetooth, I was able to run videos on a tablet with the sound output to the speaker set (it has a subwoofer) and it sounded great and the receiver worked for the entire time with no hiccups. I'm tempted to see if a mini-jack to RCA cable would allow this to work on the old stereo system in the garage. On a flight, two of us watched movies and videos from the same tablet wirelessly, rather than use a headphone splitter and wired headphones. Normally, we can't use two sets of noise cancelling headphones to watch the same movie wirelessly. This made it more enjoyable and didn't complicate things. I have to mention that I love the size again, but I also love the USB Type C port instead of mini/micro USB for charging. I was able to use a portable battery charger to charge it and didn't have to worry about using a proprietary charging block.

So far this item has been working really well. I use it in conferences to shoot Bluetooth to my speakers from my laptop

This is a great product. Works just how I need it to. It has great sound quality. Pairs easily with all phones.

This is the perfect way for my dad (who refuses to use his smart phone) to listen to his favorite CDs and radio stations through his Bluetooth headphones. He has poor hearing, so this allows him to work in his shop while he listens to music, and it was easy to set up

Will only support receiving units that are not supported by a different bluetooth system for a different purpose. Both my wife and I have hearing aides that a connected to our cell phones by bluetooth. This product cannot send the TV sound to our hearing aides under these conditions!

Small and reliable. Good purchase, would buy again.

Question? Will this unit function in a 70’s model stereo reciever???

Not as easy to install as directions say. 9 days later and still not able to use it.

Garbage won't connect with anything. I tried everything no good ....... .
