Especially when you go to remove your smartphone. The button to release the clamp is hard to push and awkward to reach. I usually end up pulling the whole thing off the vent. I have the iPhone X Max and it does a great job of blocking the entire vent and preventing air from coming out. The iPhone does stay cool.

It works fine, the spring mechanism hold the phone in place. It can be a little tricky getting the phone in and out. My biggest issue is that my rear view mirror has buttons on the bottom and the holder placement was not great because of that. Take a look at your rear view mirror and make sure the unit will fit where you want it.
