I wanted a CD player to use in my kitchen and found the Insignia was just the right size and price. And great sound too!

I love this CD toolbox. I sounds great and I use it a lot to exercise or just listening to a CD or radio!

Nice that it worked first time around, didn't need to return it (like my last two eBay purchases), and is still working!

Purchased radio that was open box discription said in excellent condition. Radio had scrathes all over and would not turn on. Please don't buy open box I was on vacation so just a few days out for return and not close to a store so wasn't worth the hassle to return to store. The radio should of been thrown away!! Poor quality management.. .

I ended up with a super price deal on this Insignia small CD-Radio player for the kitchen to help me be entertained while cleaning up. I found a place to plug it into the wall and it is easy to reach, to play and looks great ! It measures 5 inches tall, 10 inches across and 9 inches from the back to the front ( depth). The top has the CD player, the control buttons are mostly on the front and the volume rolling dial on the left side. The two big speakers are on the front. It has a sturdy handle that can be raised to carry the player securely. The headphone hole is on the back. The (Aux-IN) requires a 3.5 mm cable to an external music source, also on the back. It does require 8 C batteries, so include them, too, if this is something you want to use. I personally advise using it with a plug in wall power plug with the power cord that is included as often as possible to reduce battery drain. It is a super great CD player and radio, with an antenna and sounds wonderful. It is also very portable and lightweight.

I bought this for my soon to be 83 year old Mom for Christmas so she could listen to her CD's around the house. It's nice and compact so it doesn't take up too much space. The sound is very good. She can easily hear the music playing while in another room. It's fairly easy to put in a CD, even for her. The radio works well also. It's a little hard to see the buttons and read what each one is for. My Mom keeps a little flash light nearby so she can shine it on the buttons to help, but once you get familiar with what each button is, it's not too bad. Overall for a basic CD player/radio it's seems to be a good product.

Needed a small portable CD player so I can listen to music in various rooms without disturbing other people. This one was an excellent price, light weight, just the right size, has a long cord, and a good tone; and the bonus I was not expecting is the good quality AM/FM radio. It holds just one CD, but that is fine for me. It would be a little easier if the CD door opened just a bit wider, but that is not really a big problem. Over all, I'm very happy with this highly affordable purchase.

I reorganized my storage room/home office and had a little extra space, so I decided to get something that plays CDs. I have Bluetooth speakers, but sometimes I just want to pop in a CD (I have several hundred) and let it play in the background. I bought this model specifically because it didn’t have Bluetooth- it DOES have an Aux-in jack for connecting an external device, if needed. THE GOOD: Small, portable, can run on A/C or batteries, good sound (I only play it a low levels so I can’t comment on volume), bright display, power cord does not have a “brick” attached. THE BAD: The CD tray is a simple lift and open style- I wish it were the push down and pop up style. THE UGLY: Some say the A/C cord will loosen in time- I have had these two-hole type plugs in the past and they do tend to loosen with use. But the reason I’m deducting a star is that the headphone jack is on the back of the unit, down at the bottom. It’s a really inconvenient place to have this jack, as you have to turn the unit around to get to it. It may not be an issue for some, but for me the way I have this unit set up it’s very awkward. Having it in the front or on the top would have made a lot more sense! OVERALL: Good little unit, very basic (but that’s exactly what I wanted), it will serve my needs nicely.

Good value for the money (got it on sale for $24.99) and a bit more compact than most boomboxes. The speakers are a bit small so you are not getting deep bass, but if you are looking for a portable box with a digital tuner as well as a CD player, this does the trick. I bought this for occasional use. I have been using it with headphones and the sound quality is good. If you are looking for booming bass and dynamic range of a Bose system, this won't do the trick.

This a a small cute boombox. It is very easy to use. My mom loves listening to the radio and her CDs. I love that this worked for her and the price was great!

Needed an AM-FM-CD -wanted something with good sound; not looking to cobble components. The choices are scarce here and led me to portable "boom-boxes". It is mid-2021 and teh shelves are near bare - this was the only one I could get. It was inexpensive, obviously the Best-Buy knock-off brand from China - was I surprised when I turned it on!!!! Reception is good, sound is good (not as full as my echo dot but good) & the CD player is good. Buttons are small and the labeling even smaller (PIA) - - But for the price, I filled my need and will most likely not replace it. I am very satisfied and would recommend this.

I bought the Insignia CD Boombox for my elderly mom who likes to listen to music in her garden. I bought the unit because it is compact, lightweight, and easy for her to carry. I liked that the CD player had a lot of extra features such as AM/FM, auxiliary input, and it can work on batteries or plug in. I give this unit 2 stars because all of the features work, barely. Unfortunately, the Insignia CD Boombox does not meet our needs. The idea was for mom to listen to music outside without having to carry her laptop, or a bunch of CDs while still having the ability to play CDs or connect to an iPhone when indoors. It was supposed to be easy to just carry the unit and listen to radio. The problem is that the receiver is poor on this unit. Am gets only a couple of stations and when on FM only one station comes in totally clear without static. I have a handheld radio for emergencies, and it gets all the local AM and FM stations clearly. Mom had a similar Insignia CD player before that performed well and lasted for years but this unit is a loser from the get-go.

This Insignia boombox is just what I wanted. I searched many store websites looking for the best boombox for my needs, which is to have a small, AM/FM/CD boombox to play while I work from home. The AM and FM stations, and my CDs, all play clearly. What I like the most about this boombox over several others is that this one has an antenna that telescopes up and down for the FM stations which makes them much more clearer than without an antenna, and it also has a digital display to show what radio station it is tuned to. My old boombox had neither feature. I had a hard time turning the little wheel on my old boombox to try to find the radio stations that I wanted to listen to. The digital display on this new one leaves no guesswork. I will say that this boombox is perfect for playing indoors in a single room. I don't think customers would be happy with this boombox played outside in a wide open area. A larger unit would be better for playing outside. I have been using this boombox for about a month now and have no complaints at all. It is exactly what I was looking for and this unit cost significantly less than 2 others that did not have a telescoping antenna or digital display. What also helped me make my decision to buy this unit was the Insignia brand. Overall, I am very happy with this boombox. I recommend it to others based on the price and its features.
