This cover will save the remote from breaking apart when it's dropped. Just make sure the openings are not overlapping the control buttons. Mine works well and I am always dropping the remotes and searching for rolling batteries. I would wait till it's on sale. Best Buy had it on a deal of day sale and I'm happy with the purchase.
