Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use and affordable price as major pros of the Flex 8 - 8GB. Positive feedback also highlights decent performance and surprisingly good battery life. However, many customers cite concerns about the screen quality and some find the device to be heavier than expected. Additional criticisms include the sound quality and limited storage capacity.

Worst Display I Have Ever Seen!

I have been through about dozen Android devices. This is easily the most disappointing display I have ever seen. It's a shame too because the Flex 8 is built solidly and really has a nice, clean setup/interface. I got it on the door buster price of $80 and it's still going back tomorrow.

Bought this tablet then took it back next day. I found this online then called my local best buy They had two in stock I went in bought one and took it home hooked it up let the battery charge it up for the 8 hours. I found I did not like the brightness the brightness I raised all the way as high as it would go but it still was not bright enough it looked still dim. the white was actually off white or egg shell with little tint of brown to it best I can describe it ,just didn't look right. would work for being soft on your eyes if your troubled with brightly lit display. After your done charging you have to disconnect the cord from the tablet for the tablet to actually turn on to the main screen for use. after you have done so and was to the main screen you can plug it back in.

    Had trouble after a week

I was looking for a cheap low end tablet that I could use. Wasn't looking for anything high end, just something for Netflix, Facebook, etc. I came across the Flex and it seemed like the best deal for the price. Everything was fine the first week. Then the OS just slowed down to a crawl. Had to wait 30 seconds for webpages to load when previously it took maybe 5 seconds. The other big problem I experienced was "Ghost Typing" Whenever I tried pressing backspace after a typo, it would register various letters all over the keyboard. Was not using a screen protector and screen was spotless so that was not the problem. Decided to take advantage of the 15 day return policy and return it and exchange it for a Galaxy Tab 3 7.0

    Defective charging port

Initially I was impressed with what $79 could buy, however, when it became time to charge the Insignia NS 14T002 model tablet, I noticed the charging plug would not plug in completely. This is apparently a design defect,. After a month of use, the charging port inside the tablet broke free of the board ,and the tablet was returned to BestBuy for replacement. The replacement would also not allow the charging plug to insert completely, and once again, after about a month, the charging port broke free of the circuit board. Thankfully BestBuy has refunded my money, and apparently will not be selling this item much longer.

Not sure if it's just me

When I go to storage the Internal Storage is .98GB, I don't get where the other 7GB are. I only downloaded 40 apps (all very simple ones, card games, bejeweled, candy crush) and it's already saying the memory is full. I went to Best Buy and they don't seem to have any answers, I called Insignia and they said it may be a "bad batch" I asked if they could ship me one with 8GB and they told me no that I would just have to return it to Best Buy (REALLY!!). They gave me a SD chip to add to the tablet, but it doesn't seem to let me add apps to SD chip. If anyone has any information or help I'd greatly appreciate it!!!!

    Two dead in two months

Right out of the box, the first one would not charge. The charging cord plugged into the tablet just fine, but would not charge. I took it back to the store and they gave me a new one. The new one worked great for my 5 & 7 year old daughters for almost two months, but now it will not accept a charge. We never let the kids plug in the charger, as I didn't want to have a repeat of the first tablet's symptom. However, it happened anyway. Shame on me for not keeping my receipt, so the tablet is now just electronic waste.

    CHEAP! CHEAP! CHEAP!

I bought two of these products as Christmas gifts for my wife and son and both no longer charge after 2 months of using them. I would not waste my time with these. I contacted the manufacturer and they responded to the email but the entire email was about a T.V. not a tablet. I have not taken this product to the Geek squad yet to see what they will do with it, but I doubt they will do anything. Overall, this product is cheap and you are not getting a deal at all. Lesson learned.

    Underwhelming even for $80

I bought this for the family xmas gift on blackfriday for $80 and even at that price its not worth it. Trying to update comes up with an error that INsignia is "working on" or so I was told via the phone tech. Also it doesn't have basic android 4.2 features like users or parental controls. Don't buy this product until they fix these issues. You'll save yourself time in the return line.

    The 8 G storage is less than 6 G.

I'll add one more disadvantage of this tablet except display and sound. The 8 G storage is not 8 G. It's 0.98G internal + 4.64 G NAND Flash. It's 5.62 G two thirds of 8G approximately . It was I in bad luck or everybody the same? Should I bring it back to the store for another try or just return it?

I plugged it up to charge the tablet, but so far, no service. And there are no directions about how to set it up. Anyone else had this? Have I not charged it long enough? If this starts working, I will come back to change this review.

    Wifi connection issues

We own many tablets. IPads, Nexus, Galaxy Tab, Kindle HD, all of them connect easily to our wifi. The insignia will not connect to the wifi despite the signal strength being excellent. Not a very good tablet, do not recommend.
