The hard drive fits with extra room inside. There is a pouch to store the usb cable. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the hard drive doesn't fit snugly inside the case. There is extra room on all 4 sides so it slides around in the case when closed, but it needs this room to fit different sizes of portable hard drives. It still gives the hard drive great protection though against drops or anything heavy being sat on it.

I got (2) of them when I bought (2) WD - My Passport Ultra 3TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive(s) - Classic Black. The drive fits great in there and there's just enough room for the included cable needed to connect to computer. There's an elastic strap to hold the drive in the case so when you unzip it doesn't just fall out. There's also a pocket for the cable. Highly recommend.

Not too big, but big enough to hold my hard drive and cord. Hold down strap on one side for hard drive and webbing on other side to hold USB cord. I like it!
