For the price, I was expecting something good but not great. Big surprise. This radio is excellent. First of all HD reception is always more difficult than receiving regular non-digital broadcasts. I understand that this is due to the lower power of the digital (HD) signal compared to the main analog signal. But, having said that, this radio does a better job of bringing in the HD signals than any other radio I have tried. The nearest HD signals are 50+ miles from me and I get 3 or 4 HD stations with the extendable antenna and 8 or 9 total (every available signal) with the wire-type antenna, which is included with the radio at no extra cost. Reception of analog-only FM signals is also on par with the best analog-only radios I have ever used, some costing 10 times as much as this one. If you want to optimize HD reception, I would suggest experimenting with some different locations in your home - near windows is good, as is an upper floor if you have one. Connect the wire antenna and stretch it all the way out. It's about 6 feet long, which is the correct length for FM frequencies of 88-108 mHz. Place the wire roughly perpendicular to the imaginary line running between you and the station. If taking these steps doesn't work to bring in the HD station you are trying to get, it is probably too far to be picked up at your location. Some other good things about this radio include nice controls that you can operate by feel in a dark room - a plus for people who want to use this radio in the bedroom - as well as a clear, easy-to-read digital display, good sound quality and volume given the radio's size, and an auxiliary input that allows you to use this radio as an amplified speaker for audio coming from an external source. So, for a very modest price this radio let's you gain access to HD Radio programs and enjoy better FM reception on all stations. My only complaint is that there is no AM band, but given the low price and high-performance of this little radio, that is not a serious issue.

This little radio grabs the airwaves and maintains steady, clear reception. It doesn't take up a lot of space, but the sound is excellent. The 20 preset channel capability is more than enough for my needs. It's a million times better than my old radio. I can't imagine listening on anything else now.

Purchased this radio for desk at work. Decent hd radio reception and only downside is no AM band reception. Was able to find FM simulcast of AM programming so I can listen to conservative crank radio.

I bought this because the only classical music station in Houston was going HD. It's an excellent FM (only) radio, gets great reception even out in the suburbs, and runs on batteries when needed (very useful during power outages). The information window is very small and you need patience to read the titles and artists when shown. I was delighted to rediscover the jazz station that went HD a few years ago, too.

I purchased this radio so I could listen to some HD Oldies stations with more music and no commercials. It has delivered everything that I could ask for. My only negative is that I can't pick up certain stations in certain areas of my house. Otherwise, a great radio for the price.

We were unable to listen to the local NPR radio station's extended play list playing on their FM HD-2 and HD-3 radio signals. We can now hear a variety of NPR radio programs using KTTZ's DH-1, HD-2 and HD-3 FM broadcasting signals.

I purchased this radio as a present for my wife and although it works OK it does not really do much more than that. sound is OK, reception is spotty to OK, battery life is low to OK.... Nothing really bad but not that good either...

This compact HD desktop radio has nice sound. The ability to store stations is great. But so is the scan ability to find stations. The only drawback is that it does not have a clock. I can now listen to my favorite classical sation.

I live in a "high electronic noise" and relatively poor radio reception home and the combination of good sensitivity, surprisingly good digital sound (for such a small radio), and a good price made this radio a winner for me.
