There are very few HD radios on the market (Who knows why). The sound from this unit is not good. Turning the volume up and down requires you to actually look at it in the light so you don't hit the wrong button. Changing channels or going back and forth between regular and HD has the same problem. Rocker switches may fit in to the design but a plain old rotary knob would do the trick better.

I've been looking for a small radio for the house, something easy to move from room to room. This radio is perfect. It's lightweight, gets great reception in every room, and the sound quality is great! Definately recommend.

I'm a letter carrier and was looking for a good portable radio I could take with me as I deliver mail from my postal truck. The radio did a fine job holding the signal, however, the life of whatever batteries i put in the radio is extremely limited. Using an ordinary radio, batteries may last up to 6 weeks. With this particular radio, the batteries will not hold a charge even a week. Extremely disappointing. Also, this is a FM radio only. I should have confirmed that before buying the radio. I never bought a radio which was FM only.

Simple radio that I'd bought to listen to the "HD1" signal of an FM station that "experienced technical difficulties." Sounds fine. Your benefit of course depends upon reception and availability. Could use a sleep timer though workarounds are available. I wonder if a powered external antenna would help any?

This is a great radio for analog FM but the HD part is a little weak. The sound quality is excellent for it's price and size ( What do you expect for $50!# people have to figure that your getting speakers from a beats boom box!!!!!!. Anyway the sensitivity for this is the best because out of all my radio's I own this pulls in the most stations and sometimes I get stations from Minnesota and Wisconsin # I live in central IOWA) and it has virtually no bleed through even the in town stations. NOTE**** if you really want this item I would around for a few weeks to see if it goes on sale because I only payed 39.99 for mine!

I went and purchased this based on the info on the website here. It states there is also an AM band...wrong! It also states there is an aux in...right. But then it states that it's not mp3 player compatible..really?? That's (as probably all of you know who are reading this) what that is for. Plus I personally wasn't very impressed by the actual "quality" of the sound. I'd rate it a 3 and that's being rather liberal with that! Best Buy needs to have someone list their items and info who actually can do something as "difficult" as that! So tomorrow I have the "pleasure" of returning this and trying to find what I'm actually looking for. Couldn't care less about it being an HD radio, really need an AM band however.

I've been watching HD radios for a couple years hoping the price would come down. Three years ago, you would have paid almost $300 for the same quality! I am very happy with this unit, just plugged it in and pressed the "search HD" and all the local channels came in easily and with a super clear signal! Sound is ok, but is restricted by the size of the speaker. There is an audio output plug, however and after connecting it to my larger stereo system, the sound was great! No lossiness, super clear, and best of all, all the extra HD channels which are not available in the analog world!

Does receive a HD stereo signal using headphones. Runs on batteries & included DC adapter. Has RDS radio display info that scrolls across screen with staion, artist, song info.

I wanted an inexpensive HD radio. I was NOT expecting the (to me) quality sound I am hearing! I am very pleased! I just hope the reception will be as good when I am farther from the city. It sits "quietly"/ unassumingly on my desk. I am so grateful! This is my first purchase from Best Buy online.

I am really enjoying my Christmas present. HD Radio offers so much in my market of Houston. From sports to smooth jazz! Does exactly what I wanted for an indoor radio. Nothing that I do not like about this product so far and I use it every day.

When I wanted to get in HD radio, it was for the additional channels. Instead what I like about HD radio is that the reception is so much better than a regular radio of similar value. However, HD radios don't get AM-it just gets FM and the HD stations. I think this radio is a good value for the money. However, I had some difficulties with the volume control and the automatic scanning does not work very well. I have to manually get to alot of stations(which I don't have to do for the portable version of this radio).

If you're looking for a great HD radio at a great price, look no further. Purchased this for my dad as a gift. He liked it so much he bought another one to use in his workshop.

My old plug in HD radio died, so needed a replacent. Even tho HD radio stations seem to be getting less and less. It's still nice when you do find one. So this battery portable fit the bill and has good sound.

I bought this radio for my office. I picked this one because of the good reviews, the size of the radio, and it looked very user friendly. I know nothing about HD radio, so this was not a factor in my selection. I do like the looks and size, and it is very easy to use, but the reception couldn't be worse. I can literally only get 1 station with any degree of clarity, and even then it's spotty at best. Perhaps this is because it's HD and not a regular radio...but it doesn't serve its basic purpose. I'll be returning it as soon as my new radio arrives.

This won't produce the sound quality of a Bose but it is perfect for use in a home office or similar use. Reception is somewhat sketchy but works well enough with the included pigtail antenna. There are not many inexpensive HD radio options and if your demands for the product aren't too high, this will work well for you.

It is my opinion that overall it's a good radio at a good price

I bought this model and the portable so I could hear my two local AM talk shows. (Different AM stations). I use the portable at work and on walks, and this model in my bathroom. Unlike the portable, this model will not let me set a Preset. When I set the Preset and turn it off, the preset is not there when I turn it back on. So I have to scroll up or down to the station I want to hear.

Purchased this radio so I could listen to the many HD stations in my area. Was able to pick up most of them except for the main one I wanted to listen to, WGY-HD. I was unable to pick up the signal, even with the antenna fully extended and using the supplied wire antenna. Station drifted in and out. Same with some of the other channels. Some had great HD quality and some had static or fade. I think I will wait for better technology or for Sony to come out with one.
