HD radio is the best when done well. This is not it. Yes, it receives HD radio and the sub channels, but the speakers cannot do the job, so HD content is wasted on this unit. If it had a remote or Bluetooth, and you hooked it up to some decent speakers, it would be worthwhile. Otherwise Don't bother!

I bought this for my wife. Now she seldom watches TV, because she found a station that plays her type of music, and plays it all the time.

this is a very good product if you have hd channels that you love and want available anywhere at home... just plug it in & turn it on. I use headphone connection to patch into stereo system.

This radio is fantastic. It picks up every local HD station in an office where I don't even get cell reception half the time.

    Low Quality Audio

Unless you plan to use headphones, say your money. It's a nice little tuner, but the speakers sound very tinny. This is tolerable on talk shows, but on music it is pretty bad. Audio is pretty good on headphones. There is a lot of bass boost on headphones if you like that. If I had it to do over, I wouldn't buy this radio.

    bad switchgear, audio quality

I bought one of these, got it home and tried to preset to some HD stations. Pretty soon it locked up and I couldn't do anything with it, even taking out the batteries and putting them back in. I returned it and had BB replace it. When I got it home, the exact same thing happened. Except this time I figured out the the preset 'set' switch had jammed in, and nothing else would work! I managed to release it and the radio operation returned. But every time I pressed that button, it jammed up again. I tried it over a couple of days, and it discharged 4 2000 mAH NiMH batteries in a few hours. Really! But worse, the sound quality lacked any sibilants (high notes) and it was difficult to understand talking stations at all. Took it back. P.O.S.

I have tried twice to buy this radio, and had to return it twice. The first time, the battery power did not work. That is, it only worked when the power adapter was pluged in, not when using the batteries. On my second radio, the buttons worked intermittently at first, then stopped working altogether. I don't think I will try a third one. If you buy it, there is a good chance it will be defective.

I bought this radio primarily to listen to HD radio stations while at work in my office in downtown St. Louis. The radio would only pick up one HD2 station and it could not even pick up up traditional stations constantly with full stereo reception. I tried moving the radio to different locations in my office, fully extending the antenna, connecting the secondary wire antenna, and the reception never got any better. I returned the radio the next day for a refund. I was VERY disappointed.

I have to press the power button many times to get the radio to turn off. Also, the reception is not any better than a regular radio.
