Water in the tray? Big iceberg in the bin? Fixed!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We originally purchase and installed this unit and were excited to use it. However, after a short bit it became evident there was a problem. Our ice was frozen into a big lump. The bottom of the bin would eventually become one big slab of ice and we would have to dump it into the sink and start over. We were only getting about 30 percent of our ice usable. Best buy warrantied the unit and we were once angain hopeful. Once again we had the water/ice issue. After enduring this headache for a few more months we were considering uninstalling it and just buying bagged ice. Then we realized some of the cubes were larger than others and the big cubes were hollow as compared to the small cubes being solid. Our first suspicion was the timer was set too short but the different sized cubes tipped us off. The problem is the tray is not level. The water is not evenly distributed and some of the cubes do not freeze solid. You need to take a small level and ensure your tray is level after installing it. Since we've leveled ours we have had zero problems with water or unfrozen cubes. This could be remedied by the manufacturer by extending the timers cycle but I suspect they kept it short to maximize the potential ice production.

And yes I am going to call them. And the first gentlemen who came to put my ice maker in stated that it did fix the refrigerator with even opening the box. I will give the second genetlemen 5 starts
