The rubber is sturdy with no signs of cracking. The metal ring feels a little cheap, but has also been durable with no issues. Overall, I recommended Insignia's case for air tags.

If the clip is played with, however, the clip will let go of whatever is attached to it. It’s best to slide the rubber portion over the clip and keep it there to prevent the clip from opening.

I ended up just giving up on opening it and simply hooked another key ring over it. I know its not supposed to be easy (or else your airtag may go bye-bye) but on the other hand it shouldn't be that difficult.
