I've only had it a couple of weeks but so far for basic editing with HD footage it's been working well. Haven't tried to see if it's fast enough to keep up with 4K footage yet. As an enlosure to put an NVMe stick in and use for storage, it is fantastic.

Why does it need rails?

The plastic nub/screw secures memory cards well in place. Honestly just a poor design overall. Otherwise, it'll do what you need.

USB to NVME Enclosure

It can be plugged into a regular USB using the adapter or USB-C. Nice to have that option because many older desktops and laptops do not have USB-C. I also like the fact that the enclosure has a push button lock and unlock to open the enclosure rather than screws. Works quite well

The 1TB i needed for my Asus Laptop, but needed to clone the 256 GB that came with it. This worked like a charm and was picked up immediately. I was able to clone all my info to the 1TB with ease. I even plugged it into my PS5 and it was also recognized as an external drive, but didnt test to see if it would function.

My only gripe is that some of the internal locking parts are poor in quality.. I nearly broke the locking mechanism with minimal force while placing my drive in the housing.

Just What I Needed

Had a computer with a corrupt OS but wanted to get data off it before wiping it out and re-imaging it. Simple to use and didn't need screws/screwdrivers to insert the SSD. I like that is comes with an adapter, so you have the option of both a USB-A and USB-C connection. Also good for turning an M.2 SSD into a portable drive.
