Worked really well! Had to clone two M.2 drives and it provided a simple and effective solution! comes with a thermal heat pad, which is neacessary for SSDs.

The first 2 I purchased did not have thermal pads. Likely got returned after being opened, and since there is no security seal on most Insignia products, wasn't known by employees. It is able to sustain 10Gb/s without overheating. Preferable to have 40Gb/s option available, but it works great as rated.

This Ssd enclosure is awesome! I used it to transfer games from my original pc to my ASUS Rog ally x!

I agree that it certainly works as advertised. My gripe, too, is that the internal locking part is poor in quality. I never got the locking mechanism to secure my drive in the housing. For short-term use, the thermal pad kept the nvme drive in place. For longer-term use, i'm not sure if the drive will shift.

I used this to swap out a M.2 2GB card in the ASUS ROG Ally, cloned the old drive onto it first. Now using this as an extra storage drive with the old 512GB card inserted. Easy to use, handles multiple card sizes easily.

Worked as expected except for the plastic clip to hold down the SSD card. However, the heat shield held the SSD down. Easy and efficient tool. Would have given 5 stars if the clip would have fit better when the SSD is inserted.

The enclosure works so that's a plus, but the latching mechanism would not fit with my standard M2 HD. Lucky that the thermal tape was thick enough to compress the M2 into position. I wouldn't travel with it this way but is ok for stay at home duties and careful handling. I needed one fast and it was the only one in stock. It would have been better with a screw to hold it down vice the latch as you have to pull it out and then insert the M2 and then plug in the latch and twist it into position. The latch would not go in because the pcb of the M2 partially covered the hole. Samsung 970 EVO was the M2

Must buy for cloning drives. Easy to use and figure out.

Worked flawlessly to clone a smaller, older M.2. No issues, super simple, and now it works as an external drive. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, and it was a great deal.

Used this originally to verify I had a toast NVME card. Now it's a daily driver for utilizing old cards. Love it! Even came with it's own thermal pad.

Buying this as a gift for my wife this is the second one I purchase very reliable and easy to store.

Does what is says it will. Upgraded my ssd to 2tb and bought this for the 512gb ssd i took out.

Works as expected and allowed me to utilize an extra SSD drive.

This product allowed my to help a customer out. They had an NVMe drive and I didn't have a way to access it. I only had to run to Best Buy and buy it! Very easy to use, fast setup, fact connection time and fast R/W! I was very thankful to find it!

It is of great use to me since I work in IT. This has saved me plenty of time when I need to take out SSDs to get information off.

This helps me back up my files into anothed m.2 ssd. I also use this as cloning device. You just need to use a software that can clone and it will easily detect this device with your m.2 inside it.

Nice unit and reasonably priced. The only issue I had was getting the hold-down clip to work, but the enclosure still functions just fine using the foam filler to hold the SSD in place.

Holds the ssd fine. No problems. .
