I had a pair of NVMe drives, and the drives seated to the connector well, but were about 2mm too long for the screw to hold it seated properly. I was also worried about breaking the crap plastic screw in the case to force the drive down in it.

It would be much better as a clam shell design versus a slotted design.

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this with a Western Digital NVMe drive hoping to clone my notebook's original Kingston 256 GB drive to the new 1 TB drive. WD lets you use a special version of Arconis software that only works with WD drives, but when you use this enclosure, the software doesn't recognize it as a WD drive, so you can't clone it that way, making this device useless to me. I also tried to put the original drive in this enclosure with the new WD drive in the computer and boot from the USB drive, but I couldn't get that to work either. I wound up just reinstalling everything from scratch with the new drive installed and didn't use this enclosure at all. Very disappointing. If I had read more of the reviews I would have realized. A lot of people have complained about the latch pin, but if you are careful and try it out before you try to install a drive, it is actually pretty simple and you won't have any trouble. Not a great design, but it works if you are careful. The drive itself is nice otherwise. Using a USB 3.1 port, I only got 450 MB/s sequential read/write speed max from this drive. So while the NVMe drives are capable of much, much faster speeds, over USB and with this device, they are slowed way down. Still, it is a way to take a NVMe drive and read it over USB, so the enclosure has some potential use.

Posted .Hi, Thanks for your review. I think that the new drive(WD) didn't do the format process so that the PC didn't recognize it. suggest you do that and re-check the enclosure function.

I had to modify it to accomplish this as the store employee told me this would work for the Samsung PRO9 M.2 with heatsink. I had to cut off some sides to make this fit.

I cannot retun this. Keep all your packaging & cables in case this happens to you
