When setting up my home office, the docking station provided by my company required 1 HDMI and 1 mini-DisplayPort connection to support dual monitor displays. Instead of purchasing a new HDMI to mini-DisplayPort cable, this device allowed me to use the HDMI-HDMI cables I already had on hand. Works great.

Hooked my MacBook Air to my large Samsung HDTV

Had always done it from a DELL or HP in the past but clearly needed an intermediate connector and was so happy to get the right part from the very helpful salesperson which allowed me to easily use my MacBook Air with a normal HDM1 adapter. He sold me the right thing and explained well how to use it.

Gets the job done
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Relatively in-expensive and lets you use an HDMI cable on your laptop or other device that only outputs to DisplayPort. The only issue with these cables (in general, not this specific brand) is that the wiring fatigues over time if you use it a lot (like on a daily basis you are connecting/disconnecting it) and it looses signal, but for the price, if you had to replace it every year, it wouldn't be a big deal.

Inexpensive alternative to Apple Branded cord

The best feature, however, is its price... fully $10 less than the Apple-branded adapter. With no lack of function, especially for a cord that isn't likely to be subjected to excessive wear, that $10 can be better spent elsewhere. I highly recommend this product.
