There seems to be a slight delay about 1/2 second when typing to response on my Samsung smart TV. I don't really use my tv other than for streaming video content from safari so it will suffice. An older Mac tv is pretty inexpensive so that could be the route you would take to eliminate wires

I have to unplug the cable and replug it several times. Once it is working, if I move my computer the slightest bit, we lose the connection again. It's very frustrating.
