This is a great adapter that works well and is very durable.

My monitor also had an HDMI input as did the Mac Mini I bought. If you have an HDMI cable laying around, that might be all you need for basic connection functionality between a Mac and some monitor. Otherwise, this part works as well as the HDMI does (minus audio which HDMI also carries).
