It does a good job of staying in place while using it. This is true even when used on an angled surface, like an adjustable desk. I can definitely tell the difference between how the mouse functions when I use my mouse on this mouse pad versus using the mouse without the pad.

Definitely a mousepad. You can put it under your mouse, and it makes the mouse work better. Highly recommend this one because it's cheap and it gets the job done. However, I would not wash it in the washing machine. This would affect the quality of the mousepad.
