The surface is smooth enough to not create much friction with the mouse. It is a good size. Mousepad has a very good grip on the bottom and it does not slide when used.

For the price you cannot go wrong but I to be honest I have been given thicker, "nicer" mouse pads as promotional gifts. The one huge plus to me is the fabric top surface. I never cared for the hard surface ones.

The black does attract dust (or makes it more obvious), so I feel the need to clean it often. It's soft enough and comfortable, and the mouse glides smoothly.

This mousepad is not as thick as others that I have used, very helpful as thicker ones slide a little and get caught under the pin for a shelf above the keyboard shelf. I also like the color and design.
