You have to touch it to see its not. When I put it on my kitchen granite countertop it looks like a secret marble portal to another magical world! The employee at the check out didn't tell me I had money that I could of had used for this purchase.

It is your standard grade mouse pad. The mouse slides over it easily. The rubber back sticks to the desk and doesn't slide. I don't expect it to have an excessively long lifespan as the edges are slightly frayed to begin with and I'm sure my wrist rubbing on the edge will wear it down fast.

Through the first several weeks, it's proven to be very durable, especially around the edges. The smooth surface allows the mouse to glide effortlessly.

Tried new batteries. No go. Bought this mouse pad, very reasonable price, and our mouse is happy, quick and stable again. Very happy.
