Like how can you tell if it's the correct filter unless you exactly your fridge's model number. Not even offering some sort of store credit.

The critical and valuable component to these is that these state that they are both NSF 42 AND NSF 53 compliant. Be aware that the cheaper amazon and Ebay ones are only NSF 42 rated. Explanation of both: Standard 42 covers aesthetic (taste and odor) claims, while Standard 53 addresses health-related claims. So NSF 53 is a higher quality filtration removing things like: Arsenic Cryptosporidium (a microscopic parasite) Disinfection byproducts (DBPs) Giardia (a single-celled microscopic parasite) Lead MTBE (methyl tertiary-butyl ether) Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) After spending hours trying to figure out why some filters are 4 for 20 bucks and others were more expensive I came across the NSF ratings. So there you have it. These are great for the price.
