When the volume was turned all the way up, you could still barely hear the music. Chose to leave it with her and not return it due to the distance involved in getting it to her. She uses it but it's not easy to hear.

Bought these only because they contained headphones which were cheap, but could get you over a hump. Please buy a better player. And has too many features and switches on the side that I have no idea what they do. Even when I read the manual.

I bought just in case I couldn't find another. I have used at least 2 Sony's and like this better. Able to change batteries without removing CD's. Lasts longer. I have recommended this to friends.
